Mr.Manuel Almonte was born July 19, 1948 in San Francisco de Macoris, D.R. At the age of 17 he enrolled at the school of "Bellas Artes" in his hometown. Since then, he has won many painting and sculpting awards and has had numerous solo exhibits in the Dominican Republic. He currently owns and operates his own art gallery, "almonte GALLERIA de ARTE," in Santo Domingo.

Mr. Almonte is, paradoxically, a pragmatist and a dreamer. His vision of the world is a utopian dream of attainable possibilities; and, he exhorts us not to lose our ability to dream, "No perdamos la capacidad de soņar!"
