Maximo Gomez Baez is one of Bani’s greatest luminaries. He rose to the rank of Major General and maximum military leader of the Cuban independence revolution. He dedicated most of his life to the freedom of our sister nation from 1865 to 1901 when the first presidential elections where held there. Maximo Gomez died in his villa in Havana Cuba, June 17, 1905.
